His blog – Milne Media – first began publishing on the platform Typepad in 2004 where it became required reading for sections of the journalism community, leading one commentator to dub him the ‘Roy Greenslade of Scottish journalism’. He remains unsure if this was meant as a compliment.

After a hiatus of two and a bit years, this latest site began publishing again this time on the free WordPress platform, using the Responsive design theme to help cater for mobile, tablet and desktop readers. The current design is from The Journalistic theme.

In July 2014 he announced he was leaving STV in October of the same year to seek new challenges and helped run the newsdesks at The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday during their transition to a single editorial unit and supported post launch development of The National newspaper. He is also a student at Institut français d’Écosse, learning French.

He moved into his current role as PR and Digital Media Director in April 2015 with Lucid PR with a remit to develop new business verticals around digital, PR and strategy.
